Isabel Zuleta, Musician

Throughout my life’s journey—with its joys, challenges, pain, trauma, and constant migration—allowing myself to be guided by my voice has been one of the most powerful paths to healing and to reclaiming my power and freedom. Shouting, singing, howling, and composing my own music have become beautiful ways of allowing myself to fully inhabit my place in the world with radiance, lightness, depth, meaning, playfulness, and gentleness.

My family and I migrated from Colombia to Guatemala when I was just ten years old, in the midst of profound emotional upheaval. Later, at eighteen, I moved to Mexico. It wasn’t until adulthood that I found a place where my heart truly felt safe—and I learned that I could create that place for myself through music. At sixteen, I began a journey of moving toward and away from my voice, filled with doubts yet drawn by an inexplicable magnetism. No matter how far I wandered, I always found myself returning to the healing power of music and of my own voice. Thanks to a profound experience with ancestral medicine, my doubts dissolved, and I came to understand that music is my path. By allowing myself to discover my power through it, I have walked through life with passion and joy, always accompanied by music.

Today, I continue to let music guide me through songwriting, singing, music education, improvisation, play, and creativity. Building a powerful alchemy has transformed pain into beauty. I feel a deep calling to share this path with you—to guide you in reconnecting with your own voice, listening to it, expressing it, and simply allowing it to exist free from judgment, so that you may discover your own alchemy: your unique song, your own medicine.
